HP introduce industry-first innovations for its Converged Storage portfolio

Logicalis hosts official UK launch event for HP 3PAR Storage StoreServ 7000

Slough, UK, 6th December 2012: At its HP Discover event in Frankfurt earlier this week, HP’s Storage division released significant enhancements to three product lines. The new converged storage portfolio introduces a single architecture for all sizes of enterprise, and includes new HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage, HP StoreAll Storage and HP StoreOnce Backup product offerings.

A product-marketing director at HP called the announcement the division’s biggest news since acquiring 3Par in 2010. HP solutions specialist at Logicalis UK, Scott Reynolds, agrees,

“HP has said that this is the most significant set of new storage platforms in over a decade, and they may well be right. This is not a collection of minor upgrades, but a brand new converged platform re-engineered from the ground up to meet the needs of today’s virtualised, Cloud and Big Data environments.”

At the heart of the new portfolio is a new product, the HP 3PAR Storage StoreServ 7000. As one of the UK's highest accredited HP partners, Logicalis is the official UK launch partner for StoreServ, and is holding a joint event with HP on the 6th December from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at its London offices, No. 1 The Royal Exchange.

Designed for the next year of data requirements, the new storage platform is set to re-define the way storage and data requirements are to be viewed; lowering costs and boosting agility, saving time and reducing complexity and extracting more value for better decisions.

According to HP, the platform enables enterprises to reap returns in three areas:

  • Return on Individuals - Simplify with common services and management from entry-to-enterprise across primary infrastructure, information retention, analytics and protection.
  • Return on Infrastructure - Improve utilisation through massive consolidation, federated data mobility, and polymorphic designs that enable multi-use platform leverage.
  • Return on Information - Scale capacity and performance with intelligent search and policy based tiering.

Reynolds concludes, “The announcement brings the highest levels of performance and scalability that were previously the reserve of big enterprise and big price-tags to the wider market. It is certainly changing the way businesses should approach storage and data requirements, and here at Logicalis we’re delighted to be part of the UK launch.”
